- What worked?
- o Good facilitation with Nancy White
- o Good session about social ICTs
- o Good networking
- o Good learning and ideas
- o Nice crowd
- o Plug and Play went well – usually we get the sense that nothing’s happening
- o The ODK conversation seemed to have gone very well
- o Social reporting
- o CGIAR stand worked well
- What didn’t work so well?
- o Hardly any notes from session but social reporting.
- o Crazy dynamics
- o Chaos around timing
- o No good documentation
- o No clear
- What we heard/what inspired us/what was our experience generally?
- o Content?
§ Good to find out that farmers are also reached by social media § A lot of new stuff about mobile phones § Farmer line and Farmer connect § Another one on tablets on maize research (at the end of the event) and perhaps can be linked up with e-readers which we’re using – § Ethiopia is far behind § Farm Radio is very good – good to invest in radio
- o Process?
§ Chaotic timing… - What are implications for our respective programmes and ILRI generally?
- o Difficult to find out what is good for ILRI etc.
- o Iddo was very busy with mobile work
- o Perhaps as KMIS team we can guide others to channel solutions for their problems
- o Perhaps link EAP with Farmer Connect via mobile phones through voice mails / SMS – perhaps restructuring the portal
- o Good lessons on how to roll out
- o ICT4Ag in Ethiopia with Ethiopia Ministry?
- o Invite hackathon team in Ethiopia…
§ Update for KM4Dev AA/ET - What do we need to do (blog posts etc.) to harvest our insights about it?
- o LIVES blog post
- o Posts from Peter (about the 2 sessions) about Maarifa
- o Post from Tsehay about ODK
- o Another post by Tsehay on engagement with young farmers
- o Another post by Ewen on Maarifa about facilitation
- o Bart (FarmRadio) is interested in working with us (from TZ/UG) to work in Uganda etc.
- What to do differently?
- o Prepare ourselves with sessions to cover, learning questions etc.
